The Hilda Bernstein Memorial Event and Fund
The Hilda Bernstein Silverman Memorial annual event honors the commitments, wisdom, compassion, and activism of the late Hilda Silverman. Hilda was a long-time peace activist with AJJP-Boston, Jewish Women for Justice in Israel/Palestine, the Cambridge Peace Commission, Workmen's Circle, the Cambridge Holocaust Commemoration, amongst many other groups and organizations.
The first event was held on April 29, 2009, and the featured speaker was Sandy Tolan, author of The Lemon Tree (www.sandytolan.com).
Our next event is being held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 7:00pm, and will feature Phil Weiss, creator and co-editor of the influential, independent blog at Mondoweiss.net.
Please join us at the First Church Congregational, 11 Garden St., Cambridge MA.
All proceeds from the annual events will go to the Hilda Bernstein Silverman Memorial Fund which has been established to fund ongoing programs in Hilda's memory, as well as to support individual scholarship and grants to enable study, travel and activism that further Hilda's hopes for a just peace in Israel/Palestine.
